November 20, 2007

I can't believe so much time has past since I last wrote! But now that our entire website is up and running, and many of you are discovering it for the first time, I promise to be more faithful.
After all, it's just two days before Thanksgiving, and we have much to be thankful for at the Library, and I want to share it all with you.

The renovation work is winding down, and truly, it's been accomplished without any major hitches or problems. The carpeting is in, the first ceiling fixtures were installed just this morning, the elevator is in, and the painting is winding down. Pictures of the Library may be seen at our location on Barnerville Road courtesy of trustee Harriet Berard, so come on up for a look at the progress! You'll be as impressed, excited, and thrilled as we all are to see how it's coming together. In sum, the word is "elegant".

So what are we thankful for? The hard work of staff, trustees, volunteers, contractors, architects, electricians, plumbing and heating personnel, and engineers comes to mind. But we're also thankful for the support we've received from the community and from our patrons without which none of this could have happened. I'm feeling indebted beyond words - which is really something for me to admit!

Stay tuned for more progress reports, and have a happy, healthy, and festive Thanksgiving!
